Overall Experience

Today we decided to take advantage of the beautiful sunny Colombo weather and headed to Sugar Wine and Bistro (I think my massive burger craving was the real reason we went!).  It was lunchtime on Saturday and the place was packed, there were only a handful of tables available.  We grabbed a seat outside because there was a nice breeze blowing and I love people watching, especially at Crescat.  Sooo many interesting people (which is probably an understatement!).

I ordered their Classic Sugar Burger with bacon (Rs. 700) and a Chocolate Chip Mocha Frappe (Rs. 400), while my husband ordered a Club Sandwich (Rs. 625) and a bottle of mineral water (Rs. 100).  The food took a little while to be served but that was probably because they were busy.  Their burger, served with wedges, is excellent and the frappe is a nice mix of espresso and sweetness with bits of biscuit in it – yum!  The sandwich has a good amount of filling including crispy bacon, soft chicken and the perfect slightly runny fried egg.  We usually enjoy dessert but both our meals were super filling so maybe next time, as they have home made ice creams I’m keen to try!  The bill came to Rs. 2100 including taxes and with the nice atmosphere it’s definitely a great place for catch ups.
